 vengaya oothappam ( onion Oothappam ) should be perfect , and today it was just too perfect ... Onion was optimally fried  , with typical taste ... and the Oothappam was just perfect too ... Crispy in outer portions and soft in the Center ..., the Milaghai podi was the ultimate combo ...  Supported by Thengai Chutney and Malli chutney plus Sambhar ...But I could not digest its price ... It was for Rs 50 .... Had one soft vadai for Rs 10 too ....,Coffee was nice , but the price 20 Rs , was not so ... PAZHAM PORI ..... i thought of going to Palakkad to taste this and lunch ....thanks to our friends , we found the authentic stalls making fresh Pazham Pori , near Head Post Office , behind Coimbatore Railway Junction ..... loved them .... delicious it was ... i tasted authentic PAZHAM PORI ... as you all know , this stuff is nothing but frying the sweet vazhai Pazhams ...............somebody saved my journey to Palakkad .....‪#‎PAZHAMPORI‬ ‪#‎Coimbatore‬ approximate location here

GEETHA HOTEL .... i always feel happy , whenever I find a pure vegetarian restaurant ... ok ...coming to the point , this place Geetha Hotel is in Ram Nagar ...looks a decent place ..... Coffee costed just Rs 15 ..... in a decent dining hall , this amount is highly reasonable ..... other day in Anandhas one coffee costed 23 Rs .......... they said the lunch meals costs Rs 60 .... next time will try ...( comments about their lunch is welcome here ) ........ this place was previously called Ajantha Hotel ... now the Management is totally changed since one year period .... this is in Sashthri Road , Ram Nagar , somewhere close to Brook-fields ... I guess there are many pure veg restaurants with the name Geetha , here in Coimbatore ...... Sri Sai Cafe .... Undoubtedly the restaurant for the people ...... can we say ... MAKKAL CAFE ..... I never expected such low prices here .... It is in the heart of Coimbatore in Huzur Road .... took one Thenghai Sevai ( coconut sevai ) .... which was original in taste .... loved it .... more than the stuff , i loved the price tag ..it was just , just Rs 20 ... i felt like eating home food ... then Rava Kesari ..it was delicious .... but i think quantity is less ...it was for 10 Rs ... they use the Plastic cup for keeping the sweet ... why cant they keep the stuff in biodegradable plates or else in plantain leaf , like they do in Madurai restaurants ....‪#‎justanidea‬ .... the little issue here is getting the token in the queue , and then collecting the stuff in the queue , and then finding a table in the dining section .... but the dining section is clean and comfortable ..... overall this is wonderful place for economical tiffin ... to the best of my knowledge , there could be no better place for economical tiffin in Coimbatore ..... CAFE TOTARAM ..... generally i dont venture in to the race course side restaurants .... fearing they , tend to be costly ..... but today out of interest , tried this place ..... i tell you , if you dont mind your wallet this is simply a brilliant small place ... this restaurant used modern technology to offer fresh drinks , pita breads , sandwiches , custards , rice , cake and hot drinks too .... this is a small restaurant with great ambiance ... price is slightly on the higher side but manageable ... I asked , the Manager , about the name Totaram ... he said Mr Totaram , was involved in freedom movement and his descendants somehow settled in Coimbatore ... there was nice picture of him in the restaurant walls ..... there were beautiful lamps , and some cycle parts kept over the walls ... the atmosphere was hygienic .... i initially ordered a drink called BIBI KOKUM ( Jaljeera Lemonade ) ...it was Rs 55... actually it is a health drink , and it tasted nicely ... then i went for Onion and Cheese sandwich ......it was for Rs 90 ... then i went for a wonderful stuff called Panneer Salad ... there was hot Panneer Tikkas , submerged inside the fresh , fresh salads .... people believe me , the salad was so fresh that i enjoyed it like anything ... it was for Rs 185 ....then finally went for Laxmi Devi ... It is nothing but Orange caramel custard ... unfortunately it was not that much impressive ... anyhow over all it was wonderful experience ..... The manager told me , that the same management group is running other restaurants like Thats Y Food, and On the Go ........ such places though , the prices on slightly higher side will be successful as their products are excellent ... this is at Race Course Road , near Raheja Apartments ..... CS MEALS HOTEL .. One of the heritage restaurants of Coimbatore .. It s Pure vegetarian restaurant.... , it has two portions ... one is for meals .... another section is purely for tiffin items .... Tiffin item section has no chair to sit down .... It is self service and need to take food in standing position ...... Tiffin section offers fresh , items even in afternoon ... this hotel is quiet old , older than the RHR ...... they run a old style Lodge in the upstairs ... recently they have opened a modern GRAND CAFE nearby ....... ok coming to the point ... the Lunch they offered was for Rs 70 ....
